Major Success for IZTECH Students in TÜBİTAK Research Projects

Undergraduate students at Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) have achieved a significant success in the TÜBİTAK 2209-A and 2209-B support programs. A total of 141 projects prepared by students earned funding as a result of TÜBİTAK’s evaluations.
According to the announced data, 124 of the projects that earned funding fell under the University Students Research Projects Support Program (2209-A), while 17 were within the scope of the industry-oriented research projects program (2209-B). Of the 141 projects, 88 earned support from the Faculty of Engineering, 48 from the Faculty of Science, and 5 from the Faculty of Architecture.
“The success our students have achieved in TÜBİTAK applications is a concrete indicator of our research culture”
Commenting on the TÜBİTAK results, IZTECH Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran drew attention to the strong research culture established at the Institute. Prof. Dr. Baran stated the following:
“This picture that our students have presented in the TÜBİTAK evaluations is a concrete result of the strong research infrastructure and culture of scientific production we have built on our campus. The funding of a total of 141 of our projects demonstrates that the research culture at our Institute finds strong resonance at the undergraduate level as well. The funding of 88 projects from the Faculty of Engineering, 48 from the Faculty of Science, and 5 from the Faculty of Architecture is an important indicator of our competence across different disciplines. I find it especially valuable that 17 projects were funded under the 2209-B program, which directly produces solutions for the needs of industry, in terms of transforming the knowledge produced on campus into social and economic benefit.
I congratulate all our students, who have acquired their identity as researchers as early as their undergraduate years, as well as our academics who guided them throughout this process.”
