IZTECH Science and Spring Festival Concludes After Three-Day Program

The “Science and Spring Festival,” organized at Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH), came to an end after three days of scientific activities, cultural events, and concerts.

During the closing segment of the festival, which brought together academics, administrative staff, and students on campus, IZTECH Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran took the stage with students upon their request.

The science workshops set up in the festival area gave participants the opportunity to put theoretical knowledge into practice and observe new technologies. While the stands opened by student clubs in various fields reflected the social activities taking place within the university, the folk dance performances, modern dance shows, and musical performances by teams of academic and administrative staff were met with great appreciation from the audience.

A Surprise Duet from Rector Baran with Pera Group

Pera, the famous music group performing a concert on the main stage of the festival area, met with IZTECH students. Later in the concert, IZTECH Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran took the stage at the students’ invitation and sang together with the group.

At the closing event, Rector Baran and students sang the 10th Year March together. After the march, Baran joined the students and danced halay with them.

“The Events Took Place in an Atmosphere of Peace and Solidarity”

Evaluating the organization after the festival’s conclusion, IZTECH Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran expressed his satisfaction at having all members of the Institute come together following an intensive academic term.

Noting that the organization had concluded in a safe, peaceful atmosphere built on mutual solidarity, Rector Baran made the following remarks:
“Throughout the festival, wonderful events were held with competitions, performances, and workshops. I thank my students for ensuring that this entire process took place in a peaceful environment in which everyone showed solidarity with one another, and I am proud of them.

On the evening of the third day of our Spring Festival, I danced halay with my students and shared the same excitement in the competitions and games. We completed our festival together with all members of our community on our campus. I thank the entire IZTECH family who put in the effort for this program over the three days. This break we have taken after our intensive work has become a source of motivation that will carry us toward greater achievements. Now we will continue our work from where we left off, toward stronger goals.”

It was noted that the organization, which brings together scientific and social activities, will continue in the coming years as well.
