General Culture Courses Department

General Culture Courses Department is a unit of Presidency offering mandatory and non-technical elective kind of courses for undergraduate and graduate students. Its curriculum includes courses from the fields of humanities, social sciences, business administration and fine arts. As a requirement of the mission and vision of Izmir Institute of Technology, General Culture Courses Department offers an independent and dynamic curriculum which is intended to serve in meeting the following objectives:

• To ensure that our students have the necessary professional, social and cultural equipment in their post-graduation life,
• To ensure that our students are able to see the world and humanity from a multi-dimensional and wide perspective,
• To ensure that our students have the basic skills they need to think systematically and consistently and express their thoughts in a meaningful framework.
