Experience Meets Technology

Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) and IEU Medical Point Hospital have signed an R&D protocol to develop innovative solutions in the fields of health and technology. The two institutions will carry out joint work across numerous areas, from artificial intelligence to digital health and from biomedical research to biotechnology.

The scientific and institutional collaboration protocol, which brings together IEU Medical Point Hospital’s experience and IZTECH’s technological strength for the future of healthcare, was signed by IEU Medical Point Chairman of the Board Veysi Kubba and IZTECH Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran.

Science and technology meet healthcare

Drawing attention to the potential of the work to be carried out at the intersection of health and technology to generate benefits for society, IZTECH Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran stated: “As IZTECH, we place great importance on using our strong academic staff and advanced research infrastructure to develop solutions for our country’s priority needs. This protocol we have signed is highly valuable in bringing together academic knowledge and clinical experience. I believe that the work we will carry out together will make significant contributions to connecting research outcomes with real needs in the field of health, turning innovative solutions into concrete applications, and strengthening our country’s health technologies ecosystem.”

Under the protocol, joint work will be carried out in the fields of clinical and academic research, observational studies, digital health technologies, artificial intelligence-based health applications, data analytics, biomedical research, and biotechnology in healthcare. The parties will also organize training programs, prepare joint scientific publications, apply together for national and international funding calls, and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between academics and healthcare professionals.

This collaboration, which brings together IEU Medical Point Hospital’s R&D and clinical research infrastructure with IZTECH’s identity as a research university, scientific competence, and strong research ecosystem, aims to combine the expertise of both institutions to bring innovative, value-added work in health technologies to life.

Noting that the collaboration will open the door to new projects in the field of health, IEU Medical Point Hospital Chairman of the Board Veysi Kubba said: “We operate with an approach that combines clinical experience with science and technology.
